In 1930 Ghandi marched to Dandi and broke the British Salt laws, in 1965 Martin Luther King marched from Selma to Montgomery to secure voting rights for African Americans. On January 1st, 2010, twelve residents from the Hudson Valley will be joining hundreds of internationals in Gaza to mark the anniversary of the Israeli siege last December which trapped the entire population of Gaza and rendered them helpless. While Gaza may no longer be in the headlines, the blockade and suffering persist. Sick people are routinely denied access to medical treatment due to arbitrary decisions by soldiers at checkpoints, farmers livelihoods are ruined because their land is damaged and contaminated beyond repair, and children are denied basic school supplies such a pencils and paper which are now considered luxuries by the Israeli government.
On NOVEMBER 8th, Sunday, the Hudson Valley contingent will be holding a fundraiser at La Florentina Restaurant in Kingston from 1-4pm. We are raising money to bring much-needed supplies to the children and families of Gaza. Come learn more about the march and enjoy a fantastic 4-course Arabic Meal. We are asking that you purchase tickets in advance so we can plan accordingly.

We do hope you can join us on November 8th. We want to share our hope as we call upon all parties to uphold international law. Please support us as we go to Gaza to march alongside the Palestinian people in what will be an historic nonviolent demonstration for peace and justice.
