Co-OP, the Children of Occupation Project, a group of local women artists and teachers, is sponsoring the interactive art exhibit and related events. The exhibit shows how children, living under the conditions of war, have found ways to express and empower themselves through art and connect to the world around them. "This exhibit inspires the belief that peace is possible as we witness young people half way around the world make an effort to thrive and find meaning to their struggles," says Co-OP organizer Cheryl Qamar.
Co-Op has developed curricula for schools as well as presentations for groups interested in children and peace. If you would like to learn more about how you can invite us to come to your school, synagogue, temple, church, or other community group, please contact Cheryl Qamar: cqamar@hvc.rr.com or Jane Toby: jtoby@aol.com.
